I'm Back!!
The Names of Jesus Christ
I’m so excited to make this announcement. I’m starting the podcast again. Not on the Come, Follow Me lessons directly, but each week will be about another name of the Savior. There are so many names, this could go on for years! Yippee!
Here you go… not perfection, but done. And that’s good enough for me.
Shine on.
Here is the “Great Check” to see how we are doing in the goal to keep the spirit in our lives.
The Great Check
How well am I really nurturing the Spirit in my life?
This is not about shame. It’s about honesty.
Not: Am I perfect?
But: Am I living in a way that invites the Holy Ghost to stay close?
Rate yourself on each statement:
1 = hardly ever
2 = once in a while
3 = sometimes
4 = most of the time
5 = I’ve got this pretty well
Inviting the Spirit
I pray sincerely and regularly.
I study the scriptures consistently.
I repent quickly when I know I’ve done wrong.
I take my covenants seriously.
I wear my garments as much as possible and treat them with respect.
I choose music, movies, shows, and books that invite light rather than darkness.
I stay away from entertainment that is crude, filthy, overly sexual, degrading, or spiritually dark.
I keep my language clean and avoid swearing, vulgarity, and profanity.
I stay away from pornography and sexually explicit material.
I try to notice and follow promptings from the Spirit.
I make room for quiet so I can hear the Spirit.
I attend church and partake of the sacrament thoughtfully.
I try to be honest in what I say and do.
I work to keep my thoughts clean.
I try to serve, forgive, and love other people.
I avoid joking casually about sacred things.
I let go of anger, resentment, gossip, and meanness instead of feeding them.
I stop defending things that hurt my spirit and try to remove them from my life.
I try not to fill my life with so much noise and distraction that I can’t hear the Spirit.
I don’t look for excuses to be out of my garments when I know I should be wearing them.
Scoring
80–100 — You are doing a beautiful job creating a life where the Spirit can stay close.
60–79 — You’re doing a lot right, but there may be a few places where the Spirit is getting crowded out.
40–59 — There are probably some habits or choices weakening your spiritual sensitivity, and this may be a good time for a reset.
20–39 — Be honest with yourself. Some real changes may need to happen if you want the Spirit to feel more at home in your life.

I just listened to it through the app and it’s weird and has so many strange pauses that I didn’t catch somehow. I almost took it down. But I didn’t.
I’m embarrassed. I sounded so scattered … but I’m not going to let a mediocre first episode stop me from doing this. I’m going to let it go and focus on next week. Focus on Jesus. And focus on trying harder to have the spirit in my life.
Happy Holy Week!
It was AWESOME! Glad you are back! I signed up for this app, just to tell you how much I needed today’s podcast! Been listening for YEARS and finally decided to tell you I appreciate you!! You have helped me evolve into a better version of myself!
